  • In Q3 2025, OLED panel shipments are expected to increase by 1% YoY and revenues are set to decline 2% YoY.
  • Unit growth during the quarter will be mostly across monitors and notebook PCs.
  • For full-year 2025, overall OLED panel revenues are set to decline due to ASP erosion across all major applications, while unit shipments are forecast to rise ~2% YoY.
  • However, a stronger revenue rebound is expected in 2026, supported by demand recovery and additional OLED capacity.

Global OLED panel revenues are projected to decline 2% YoY in Q3 2025, following a 5% YoY decline in Q2 2025, according to Counterpoint Research’s latest Quarterly OLED Shipment Report. The slower rate of decline in Q3 is expected to be fueled by a 2% YoY unit increase in smartphone panel shipments and double-digit YoY unit growth from monitors and notebook PCs.

For full-year 2025, total OLED panel revenues are expected to see a modest decline. However, a stronger revenue rebound is expected in 2026, supported by robust demand recovery and additional OLED capacity coming online. Meanwhile, 2025 shipments are forecast to rise about 2% YoY, while unit growth is expected to be driven by smartphones, along with growth from notebook PCs and monitors.

“Although 2025 will be a transition year, characterized by mild revenue softness, the structural expansion of OLED adoption continues,” said David Naranjo, Associate Director at Counterpoint Research. “We expect revenues to see a significant rebound in 2026 as new capacity ramps up, panel efficiency improves, and IT applications further scale – positioning OLED technology for broader mainstream adoption across both consumer and automotive segments.”

Panel Supplier Performance – Q2, Q3, and 2025 Outlook

Samsung Display (SDC)

SDC’s area and revenue share in Q2 2025 climbed to 35% and 42%, respectively, driven by triple-digit QoQ percentage growth in notebook PCs and smartwatches, along with a double-digit percentage rise in TVs. Overall panel revenues increased 24% QoQ in Q2 2025, supported by 6% QoQ growth in smartphones and 24% QoQ growth in TVs.

For Q3 2025, SDC’s revenue share is projected to reach 44%, with full-year 2025 share expected at 41%, slightly down from 42% in 2024, as China Star, Tianma, and others gain traction.

LG Display (LGD)

LGD’s area share improved to 38% in Q2 2025, while panel revenue share declined to 21%, hurt by a double-digit QoQ percentage decline in smartphones, partially offset by double-digit percentage growth in TVs and single-digit percentage growth in smartwatches. For Q3 2025, LGD’s revenue share is forecast at 22%, with full-year share at 21%, down from 23% in 2024.

BOE

BOE’s area and revenue share declined to 9% and 15%, respectively, as a double-digit QoQ percentage rise in smartphones and notebook PCs was offset by a double-digit percentage decline in smartwatches. For Q3 2025, BOE is expected to maintain a 12% revenue share, with full-year 2025 share steady at 14%, unchanged from 2024.

Tianma

Tianma’s area share decreased to 5% in Q2 2025 while revenue share declined to 6%. Although the company does not produce OLED TVs – limiting total area growth – its revenue increased 8% QoQ, supported by smartphone and smartwatch demand. In Q3 2025, Tianma’s revenue share is projected at 6%, with full-year share at 6%, up from 5% in 2024.
