Inkjet printing (IJP) technology is seen as an alternative choice to WOLED in large-size premium TV applications as well as potentially a primary option for medium sized displays. In recent years, panel makers, like Samsung Display, LG Display, AUO, BOE, China Star and JOLED, have put a lot of energy and investment into this technology. This technology is maturing every day, and it is likely to move into actual production in the near future. In 2021, China Star not only invested in and began collaborating with JOLED, but also revealed its T8 Gen 8.5 inkjet OLED mass production line plan in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. Although the timing of T8 remains unclear at the moment, it can still be seen as an essential step for inkjet technology entering actual production. 主筆アナリスト略歴 (Chase Li, Senior Display Analyst)

The report is authored by DSCC Senior Analyst Chase Li who previously worked on IJP development lines at TCL.

Li joined DSCC in November 2020 as a Senior Display Analyst. He has more than 7 years experience in the flat panel display industry including 4 years as a Senior OLED R&D engineer at TCL and 3 years as Sr Research Analyst at IHS Markit/Omdia display team.

Li is an expert in research and analysis of TFT LCDs, OLEDs and the equipment value chain for China. He was also responsible for the investigation of display equipment installations, emerging technologies in display production, OLED technology localization, company financial performance analysis and government policies related to the display industry in China.

Li holds a Master's Degree in Material Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, US, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’An, ShanXi, China.
